| QUANTUM ERA 19 - REALM OF THE LIVING WORLDSHIPS. Long ago, all the races developed their motherships to extents never seen in other quantumverses. They became more and more powerful, eventually destroying virtually all of the planets in the galaxy, either directly or from consequence of epic fleet battles close by. While this was happening the populations of the remaining worlds fled to ships. Over time, the ships got larger and larger (and stronger and stronger), using the remains of planets to both fuel themselves and to grow in size and power. But life is short. Thus inefficient. Thus a disadvantage. So over time, each race developed ways in which the mind could interact directly with the ships. Consciousness was still required - a thinking ship was a powerful thing - and more consciousness infused into the ship meant more control over each small aspect of operation and battle. So it came to be that the founding races and their now world-sized ships became synonymous. This quantumverse is populated with the most advanced and huge ... WorldShips ... ever seen, run by a fusion of consciousness into the ship components. Even their small craft - the Capital Ship - is massive compared to other verses....
